It’s been 8 long years since TAP-ATX hosted a Taiwanese American Citizens League gathering in Austin, TX! We’re excited to welcome you back again for another TACL Fall Convention. Celebrate with us for a weekend of sessions around Taiwanese American identity, reunions with our alumni attendees, & of course BBQ 😋. All Convention Registrations include:

Exclusive 40th Anniversary swag, National TAPpy Hour, Sat & Sun lunches + afternoon tea break, and Sunday BBQ Banquet (veg options avail). A hot plated buffet breakfast is available for all hotel attendees from 7am-10am at the Holiday Inn Midtown. Booking at this hotel is highly encouraged. *Convention venue is a 3 minute walk from the hotel!

TACL CONVENTION SUBSIDIES

Check with your program president first to see if there is any support from your program budgets already. The subsidy application deadline has passed on June 30. Applicants were notified by July 15th. APPLY HERE

FAQs & Additional Info

July 19 - Alumni-Lite Track (some convention programming + excursions on Sat/Sun along with banquet ticket).

Attendee Tracker - to be released Friday, July 19 with access to those already registered. Please allow 2-3 business days to be added for access after you register.

Upcoming info-session for registrants is Aug 4, 8pm CT - early access to learn about the full schedule, ask questions, & sign up for Small-Group Dinners + Evening Outings!

What comes with a Convention ticket? 

  • Entrance to all Sept 19-21 programs, including TAPpy Hour, Sat & Sun Lunch, all convention programming, Banquet dinner & post banquet KTV.

  • Breakfast is included for all days for up to 4 people per room if you stay at the Convention hotel block at Holiday Inn Midtown. 

  • Special exclusive swag + snack breaks included for Sat/Sun convention

  • When will Alumni Lite be announced? July 19 we’ll release a Alumni Verification form for Alums to fill out. You’ll then receive the private link to register. Please provide as much detail as possible to expedite your registration.

    • $140 Includes Friday TAPpy Hour entrance, 1-2 speaker/panel programs at the convention on Sat/Sun, 1 excursion per Sat/Sun, Saturday & Sunday lunch, entrance to dinner banquet.

  • What kind of Airline discounts can we expect? We're finalizing a Southwest and potential Delta group travel discount. They tend to be about 5% off your booking price.

  • Is there parking at the hotel/venues?

    • Holiday Inn Midtown - Free Parking

    • Convention @ PDC Special Events Center - No free parking in garage, but it's 3 min walk from Hotel and there is free street parking + free parking in the LINC plaza across the street. The street it is off of is a smaller inner one w/ low traffic so is quite safe to cross easily.

  • Other reasons to come to the Convention and hang:

    • We're locking a couple of high-impact speakers soon that will be announced soon!

    • This early pricing at $150 is likely to be the lowest TACL will have moving forward! 

    • Small group dinner offerings will include - Central TX BBQ, Tex Mex, Asian Fusion, American Southern, & more offerings!

    • Sat. Nite outings - we're narrowing down options from Country Dancing, Late-Night Pickleball/Mini-golf, Arcade + Bar, Bar Hopping (w and w/o DG option)

    • Optional Excursions - narrowing down from Barton Springs, chill watersports on Town Lake, Inner Space Caverns, Buc-ees + HEB/Central Market grocery tours (highly requested), Jester King Brewery, Stephen L.'s Battle of the Ice Cream Brands
